Not only did Joe D'Agostino continue his winning season with 2 x poles, 2 x fastest laps and 2 x first places at Thruxton in the UK Formula Ford Championship, but his 2004 Team mate and fellow American Charlie Kimball dominated the British F3 weekend at the same circuit also clocking up 2 x pole positions and 2 x first places. A truly deserved and memorable weekend for the two talented and hugely popular Americans.
Marko Asmer, Team JLR's 2003 Formula Ford driver, finished 2nd in both F3 races at Thruxton making it a 'JLR old boy's' 1-2 in the Formula 3 events. Asmer, from Estonia, now leads The British F3 Championship at the half way point of the season.
Perhaps an even bigger win over the weekend came from Dan Wheldon who won the INDY 500 in a fantastic race to become the first British driver to win the historic event for 40 years. Dan drove for Team JLR in 1996 finishing second in the British Championship at only 16 years old.
Team JLR wish all its drivers past and present the very best of luck for the remainder of the season. We will be watching and willing you on!
