D'Agostino's lap record

Team JLR's Joe D'Agostino set the standard in round one of the 2005 British Formula Ford Championship with a lights to flag win. Joe, 19 from Florida and the 2004 scholarship champion with Team JLR has returned to the series with a view to taking overall honours this year. After a totally dominant first race leading every lap and breaking the Donington Park lap record by .5 of a second Joe has sent a warning to his rivals that he means business.Race two also saw Joe take the lead early on only to spin to the back of the field with a rare mistake. Joe then proceeded to claw his way back through the field from last to challenge for 5 th position. Unfortunately a collision with Carl-olov Carlsson (Fluid Motorsport team) put Joe out of the race with suspension damage.

Joe's team mates for 2005, Christian Ebbesvik from Norway and Jonny Baker from England both made their British Formula Ford Championship debuts at Donington Park. Christian delighting the team with his brilliant qualifying performance only 4/10ths of a second from pole position, this was backed up with a fourth and a sixth place in the races with Jonny putting in a great debut finishing second in the scholarship class in both races, seventh and sixth overall.

The next round of the championship is at the demanding Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire on the 23rd & 24th of April.
