Team JLR agree terms with Oliver Turvey for 2006
UK Formula Ford outfit Team JLR today announce an agreement with Oliver Turvey that should see the young Cumbria driver race a full season in the 2006 UK Formula Ford Championship.
The agreement will enable Oliver to start testing the team’s new Van Diemen ‘Duratec’ engine car in preparation for the 2006 season in early February.
The agreement takes the form of an option on Turvey’s driving services to allow time to confirm the 2006 sponsorship support before the season starts.
Richard Dean, JLR team boss commented, “We tested Oliver in our Formula Renault car last year and wanted him from that point onwards; he is very talented but has always lacked the financial support to complete a full season.
Oliver is working very hard to finalise the support for this year and this agreement gives everybody some breathing space”.
Oliver Turvey added, “Team JLR are a top team that can provide me with a winning car. Formula Ford is a tough championship but I believe we can win with the support of Van Diemen. We still have
some work to do to finalise the deal but I can’t wait to get started with
testing and working with the guys at JLR”.
